ARE YOU THINKING OF STARTING A BUSINESS OR EXPANDING YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS?
If you represent an existing or new business and have any of the following, you need to ensure that you are complying with all appropriate regulations:
- A discharge to the sanitary sewer other than restrooms, showers, eyewashes, hand washing sinks, kitchen sinks, or dishwashers
- A discharge to the sanitary sewer from a heating or cooling system
- Use, storage, or generation of toxic or hazardous materials
- Presence of floor drains or other spill pathways to the sanitary sewer
- Oil / water separators, grease interceptors, sediment traps
- A discharge containing heavy metals, in particular - cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, molybdenum, nickel, silver, or zinc
- A discharge containing Fats, Oils, and Greases in excess of 100 mg/L;
- A discharge with a high temperature
- A discharge high in Total Suspended Solids or B.O.D. (organic loading)
- A discharge of flammable or explosive substances.
